The Judo Summer Camp 2025 has officially begun — and it’s already clear this will be a very special edition.
In Porto Sant’Elpidio, there’s a unique atmosphere in the air: energy, technique, learning… but above all, connection.
Judoka from Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Croatia, Germany, Switzerland, France, Ireland, England, Ukraine, Bosnia, Mexico, Serbia, Malta — and from all across Italy — are sharing the tatami.
Some are meeting for the first time. Others are reuniting after a year. But what truly stands out is the gratitude you can feel in every handshake, every bow, every smile.
This is the power of Judo.
A power that transcends language, background, and culture.
A power that creates genuine friendship, born spontaneously and rooted in mutual respect — the purest of human emotions, beyond gender or nationality.
The camp opened with an outstanding class by Sensei Hatsuyuki Hamada (8th Dan Kodokan), focused on Ne Waza.
His lesson followed a precise progression: beginning with Tandoku Renshu (solo drills) for upper and lower limbs, then moving to ground transitions (Mae Ebi, Ushiro Ebi), and finally a refined form of Hairi Kata performed supine.
Each movement was rich with subtle yet crucial technical details.
The second session was led by world champion Yasuyuki Muneta.
He began by exploring the deeper meaning of the bow (Ritsurei), both in form and intent.
Then he focused on two key principles:
