The 2011 Judo Camp at Sarnano comes in a 10 DVD boxed set.
Ten hours of video in which Master Hiroshi Katanishi (7th Dan) once more delights us with his lessons packed with fascinating details and tips, always at the highest level. The Master, just as he does every year, has enriched the program and has contributed immensely to the success of the camp at Sarnano.
What the Master teaches is a highly important teaching tool, particularly suited to technical training for those who want to learn more.
His method is universally recognised throughout the world and his lessons have been selected and edited ad hoc! The DVD version makes his work available and accessible with great professionalism.
The didactic progression taught by Master Katanishi focuses on technique. The theoretical discussions on the topics are very effective in helping understand the deeper meaning of Judo and how to practice it.
Master Hiroshi Katanishi is assisted by four outstanding people from the world of Italian and international Judo who each made valuable contributions: SHUNSUKE YAMASAKI 7th Dan, YOSHIYUKI HIRANO 5th Dan, Yuko Nakano 3rd Dan and Corrado Croceri 6th Dan.
SHUNSUKE YAMASAKI was new to the 4th International Judo Summer Camp, and his contribution has indeed given a incredible insight into the methodology of teaching.
YOSHIYUKI HIRANO is fascinating with the didactive approach both to Te Waza (Seoi nage - Morote Seoi nage) as well as Ashi Waza (O uchi gari – Ko uchi gari). Notable are the Ukemi Waza applied in launching Seoi nage - Morote Seoi nage.
YUKO NAKANO, a specialist in Uchi mata, showed, as ever, a great attitude towards teaching; this time, he clarified the correct positioning of the feet in the exercises in Tandoku Renshu in Tachi waza. Worthy of particular note are Uchi mata and Oikomi Uchi mata. In Ne waza he spoke about the study of defensive positions of various Hairi kata on the floor which are extremely interesting to learn.
CORRADO CROCERI, finally, contributes a reflection on the prerequisites to consider when implementing a progression in teaching.
The Master then analysed and demonstrated in practice the complexity of a technical move, highlighting actions made by various parts of the body and, at the same time, demonstrating with these coordinated actions how to make the technique harmonious and effective.
The detailed analysis takes into account the most logical sequence to executing the technique, starting from the technical move, of Ko uchi gari and O uchi gari and then from a type of Uchi mata, which is of interest to the didactic progression of Ashi waza and a presentation of Kumi kata (classic hold) and Kumite (specific hold)
